LiteracyTools.ie is a website for the National Adult Literacy (NALA) Association of Ireland.
EXTRACT FROM THE SITE:
Purpose of website
We hope that this resource will allow many literacy tutors to access relevant exercises and be used as a new tool by tutors and learners. Tutors have told NALA that they are interested in getting their hands on materials for their learners. We have also included a section on reviews and an extensive search facility.
This website is also a very good way for tutors to introduce learners to the web and other features such as:
- Use of e-mail
- Password and the responsibility that goes with this
- Searching for information on the web
We commissioned experienced tutors to write exercises for this website and hope to add exercises regularly. - See Future Developments
This website has the advantage of being free and available to both learners and tutors 24 hours a day. Most students will need support to get started so we are particularly interested in getting feedback from tutors in relation to how we can make this site more user friendly. While we have applied Plain English design principles to this website it is you the user who will be the best judge.
